Foundations of Inclusion: The Value of Diversity

Christina Brodzik, Leader of Diversity and Inclusion Client Service Center of Excellence, Deloitte Consulting LLP
Devon Dickau, Chief of Staff, Diversity and Inclusion Client Service Center of Excellence, Deloitte Consulting LLP

In this session, participants will learn ways to recognize the role of diversity in supporting and reinforcing inclusivity. We will discuss two Diversity and Inclusion Maturity Models, developed by Bersin and the Deloitte Diversity and Inclusion Client Service Center of Excellence to assess an organization’s diversity capabilities and their impact on shaping an inclusive culture. Participants will take part in interactive activities and discussions intended to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion as separate but interdependent capabilities.

During the session, participants will:

• Learn about the difference between diversity and inclusion

• Gain familiarity with inclusion trends and recognize the need for a diversity strategy to drive and support inclusion

• Deep dive into the core D&I capabilities to identify dependencies and opportunities based on the maturity models

• Debrief on next steps, specifically related to an organization’s D&I maturity level
